  21. echo If there are any batch files on the disk (files with a BAT extension), they
  22. echo may help you get going, but it's a good idea to see what they will do before
  23. echo executing them. To do this, at the DOS prompt just enter

  25. echo Some programs have batch files that will print the documentation for you.

  27. echo A very few programs don't have documentation files.
  28. echo They are self-documenting when run.

  30. echo Programs with an extension of BAS require you to load BASIC, BASICA or GWBASIC
  31. echo to run the program. Please read your DOS & BASIC manuals for more information.

  33. echo If you still have questions about how to get the documentation or how to run
  34. echo the programs, get the "Introductory" disk from the Public (Software) Library.

  36. echo DO NOT WORK FROM THIS DISK. First read the documentation on this disk then copy
  37. echo by file name to another disk only the files that you need to run the program
  38. echo and use that disk as your working disk. If anything goes wrong, recopy the files
  39. echo from this disk. Always keep backups of all your important files.

  74. echo         that the author would like to receive if you try the  program
  75. echo         and  decide  to  keep  using  it.  To encourage payment, some
  76. echo         programmers offer more advanced versions, printed manuals and

  79. echo         But even those that don't offer incentives still deserve your
  80. echo         financial support  and encouragement  for the  work they have
  81. echo         done.  This is  your moral obligation if you are  using their
